Siwa Family Home Allegedly Swatted By The Paparazzi

Although people’s responses to JoJo openly joining and expressing her love towards the LBGTQ+ community were extremely positive, the event appeared to have caused a particular individual to do the unimaginable and swat JoJo’s and her family’s house in Los Angeles.

The particular incident took place over the last weekend. The swatting affected all members of the Siwa family including JoJo Siwa, her brother Jayden Siwa (20), mom Jessalynn Siwa (46) and dad Tom Siwa (50). The whole family was spotted outside their home surrounded by at least 7 police vehicles, a fire truck and a bunch of police officers, along with members of the SWAT team.

If you’re not familiar with the term, swatting is basically a high stakes prank which entails someone making a hoax call to 911. The call is made to report an incident which would usually require a SWAT team’s presence. It’s yet unclear who made the false report, but people are speculating the illegal act was performed by the paparazzi. This assumption occurred due to the media being outside JoJo’s house at the exact time of the swatting taking place.

JoJo Addresses The Scary Experience Via Instagram Live

The ‘Boomerang’ singer addressed the situation with her family friend and videographer Nate Javier via his Instagram account (@natejavi). During the live stream, JoJo revealed, and we quote: ’Our house got swatted. We were at our place and, all of a sudden, there was a whole bunch of police telling us to come outside. And we didn’t know why. We headed outdoors, hands up like you have to. The police said that somebody had called and made a claim and then all of a sudden paparazzi came around the corner. It’s called swatting where the media will actually call the police so that way you have to come outside your house.’

Despite describing the particular incident as scary and quite spine-chilling, both Nate and JoJo remained positive and light-spirited during the video. It was also stated that the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) is currently doing their best to identify the suspects.
